The amount your vehicle will be insured for is determined by the motor carrier’s coverage, the type of trailer used, and the vehicle's value. Typically, open car carriers have cargo insurance coverage ranging from $100,000 to $150,000, while Enclosed car carriers provide coverage between $250,000 and $3,000,000. Yes, you can place up to 100 lbs of personal items in the trunk or cargo area of the vehicle, contained in a single box or suitcase. If you want to load more items, you’ll need to provide the estimated weight, and we’ll offer you an all-inclusive price. To prevent damage during transport, both front seats and the front seat floorboards must remain empty and free of personal belongings.
The backseat must also stay empty unless you've received an all-inclusive rate for placing items there. Please note, according to the Department of Transportation (DOT), we cannot transport anything outside the vehicle on an open trailer. If you need to ship items like an additional engine or transmission outside of the vehicle, they must be crated and can only be shipped using an enclosed auto transport trailer.
For land shipments, all of the previously mentioned guidelines regarding shipping personal items apply.
Hawaii car transport shipments: When shipping your vehicle to or from Hawaii, you are not permitted to transport any personal items inside the vehicle.

No, it’s not required for you to be present. You can designate a representative who is at least 18 years old. They will need the keys and must complete the Bill of Lading
